Thank You, Coach Gibbs.
Say what you want about the Cowboys resting some of their players. Today’s game was going to be hard fought regardless. The Redskins/Cowboys rivalry runs deep, and there is no such thing as a “gimme game” between the two.
I absolutely love football season in Washington. This is a football town through and through, and when the Redskins are playing well there is honestly a noticeable difference around town. I went to the grocery store this afternoon after church and you would think I was at the stadium. People were all decked out in their Redskins gear and it takes little to know prompting to get into a conversation about the game. It’s a really cool sense of community.
For the last four weeks, I have made this statement about the Redskins: “It’s just nice to have one more week of meaningful football.” And meaningful football it will be this Saturday at 4:30pm. I absolutely believe God is giving Joe Gibbs a great stage with which to glorify Himself (note the capital “H”), and I can’t wait to watch this weekend’s game and to see my team progress to the next round of the playoffs. That way we can play the cowboys again and not only beat them again, but also knock their sorry behinds out of the playoffs. After all…that’s what good rivalries are made of! Hail to the Redskins!
This video nearly brought tears to my eyes. Seriously. I love watching the Washington Redskins play football and the season is now less than 1 week away from getting started. I’m pumped.
